Fotolia has waited long enough to offer subscriptions; it was a decision we had to make to stay competitive. Fotolia will continue to offer a pay per download model and we do not anticipate that many of our current customers will use it but new customers will. People who pay only $30 a month will not all of a sudden pay $200 for more downloads. However we needed to get those customers who do pay $200 a month and the only way to do this was through subscriptions. So for you guys it is just increased revenue. Possibly 2-3 times increase in the next year.
I am curious as to why so many of you non exclusives would be concerned with subscriptions. If you are non-exclusive with Fotolia it means you are most likely with the 3 other big sites that also offer subscriptions. If it is ok for them to offer subscriptions then why is it not ok for us to offer it.
One thing that was not mentioned in the newsletter that I feel is important to mention is that subscription downloads will be limited to the L standard license. Customers who want to purchase an XL or larger size will be required to purchase credits and pay per download.For those who are still reluctant Fotolia is offering the fair market value for subscription sales from 23 – 30 cents. Some sites offer more and others offer less but we feel this is within the range of the current market. Prices can always go up in the future.
After a long market evaluation we strongly believe that photographers and Fotolia will see an increase in monthly revenue over the next few months. Please remember that our subscription members will be downloading hundreds of images per month so the potential is huge.

И еще чувак пишет все тоже самое что я в форме предположения написал постом выше. В целом они ожидают рост. и про то что остальные стоки уже ввели подписку.
Главное тут чтобы новые клиенты на это купились и подписку покупали, а не чтобы не дай бог те кто раньше покупал за доллар теперь купит за 20 центов и мир рухнет
