i made a poll in Russian part here and seems like more than 50% of russians here are into Canon.

let's see the international picture.

please poll and it would be nice of you to mention the camera model and some lenses you use most.

we all know cameras and lenses are not nearly as meaningful as our eyes and hands, but let's see what cameras and lenses we use now ;]

Canon 300D, still, I know that is vintage but I am saving up for a full frame, because of my passion for landscapes, my favourite lens is Canon 50mm 1.8, SY

I have a canon 40D, however I am also lusting after a 5D Mark II.  I just could not wait the five months until it came out so when my last canon bit the dust I bought the 40D.  I plan on upgrading about 6 months after the 5D Mark II is released.

I have been using the Olympus e500 for the last year. It was my first slr and it has been a great camera for me, however I am thinking of upgrading to Canon.

Canon and Nikon are running head on head at the moment, I wonder which will win in the long run, SY

I use a Canon 40D (for 2 months now!), mainly with a Sigma 17-70 lens.

Canon 30D - 50/1.8, 70-200/2.8 a few consumer glass as well
Nikon D80 - 50/1.8, 18-70 kit, 24/2.8
Occassionally Canon 400D (it's around in the house but I don't own it though I use it from time to time)

I'd love to stick to one brand. Still deciding.

I'm still using my Canon 1DS (Mark I - yeeha!) and I recently bought the 30D as a backup (which I bought just before the 40D came out!). I also have a 350D but it is just too small and light to handle.  :D

Lenses most used: 70-200mm/F2.8L IS, 17-40mm/F4L, 28-135mm and 100mm/F2.8 macro.

17-40 f/4 L
50mm f/1.8 (with Kenko Extension tubes for Macro work)

Sean, do you use 17-40 a lot?

Yeah, quite a bit, depending what I am shooting. I like using it in sport:

but it makes people nervous because on the FF sensor you are about 30cm away

on the other hand, it's nice for a bit of comedy:

Nikon D70
105mm 2.8 VR - I use it for 70% of my stock photos
50mm 1.8 (cheap !!, light !!!, sharp !!, small !!! fast !!) - fantastic lens for its price
10-20  Sigma (great wide-angle lens - got it recently, use more and more)
70-200 2.8 VR
70-300 - from the days when I didn't know about the stock and that cheap lenses are never good (see exception for 50mm above  ;))
18-70  - kit lens, came with the camera, started shooting stock with it, it is acceptable lens...

waiting for my D300, hopefully in early January.

I think Canon will win... 5D did attract lots of people to Canon, but then there is D300/D3 coming....

that's what i did so far with 24mm prime. no real difference with 17mm i see. so 12-24mm fisheye would maybe make a better type of "funny" lens.

Oh, absolutely, but I have found that if I push it further than about that look, the sales potential seem to drop... dunno why... I like it  ;)

It's a strange thing. I suppose it's like some people have no sales with sport, and I have quite a bit. There are some people that do very well with heavy distortions... maybe I will learn the trick some day ;D
