They lost my model releases in their last crash(es) and as I re-uploaded the same ones, previously approved ones, they rejected them for not being sufficient... Anybody with the same experience? What have you done, chased the model down to have him/ her signing a new one? Complaint to support? Given up? SY

: khz November 29, 2007, 10:25:47 AM
interestingly DT started to create problems with MR's lately,
i hear it from a friend too, his MR's werent lost and suddenly DT contacted him to add new MR's, hehe
then it occured to me, i have a lot of images for my MR's, and sometimes they reject my new images because of MR forms, even there forms have tons of images linked
hehe,

my releases were lost too but it all came out smooth and easy with re-uploading.

Lucky you, have to get my models signing your new model release that you made available for us  ;D SY

Trick. Take new releases as they want them and copy paste the info out of your originals. You already have an agreement with your model so no harm done

Damn this suck bigtime. How do you see which files are affected by the way?
: Re: content filter problem
: dolgachov December 16, 2007, 08:27:23 PM
go to my profile

there select "more" files in "most recent files".

shows you number of pages there. easy to count.

Then I don't get it we have 1440 out of 1569 visible but most are portraits. Only a few lingerie and some covered nudes. How does the filter work? On keys?
: Re: content filter problem
: dolgachov December 17, 2007, 01:56:40 PM
i don't know. all i know is 2/3 of my images are affected. and i dont' have 2/3 of my portfolio consisting of lingerie and nudes.

: Any SR-EL (sell the rights) sales?
: domencolja December 26, 2007, 05:39:13 PM
I was wondering how's this option going for you people?

I usually set the price at exaggerated values, but I'm not sure this is the right thing to do. Well, a preliminary thought would be about checking or not checking it at all, that's true. But if I accept the terms and calculate that selling the rights for a higher price is better than waiting years to sum up the cents received by selling RF licences, what's a "good" price for an image? Or, to put it differently, is there an average "universal" price above which buyers stop giving changes?

p.s.: Imho the 350 dollars for an image is too low. But again: haven't sold no other licences at all, so I'm "in the dark" about the whole "other-than-RF" thing anyways;)
: Re: Any SR-EL (sell the rights) sales?
: Syates December 26, 2007, 05:58:59 PM
Be also aware that you have to be able to delete the sold image asap from all other agencies, that cane be difficult if it is on a 90days hold with BigStock for example. SY
: Re: Any SR-EL (sell the rights) sales?
: domencolja December 26, 2007, 06:06:28 PM
Another "complication", true. But what happens if I sell the rights and I still can't remove the images from the other sites? They sue me?;)

Most probably yes, and even worse you have to give the money back  >:D SY

: New Feature at Dreamstime!
: Syates January 15, 2008, 04:15:28 PM
Just noticed that we now can see which key word let to a sale in our stats. I love it as it provides positive feedback about how accurate we key word, for example:

http://www.dreamstime.com/red-line-rimage2494605-resi99529

got found with the key words "red line"

So far I can't see any sale where the key word doesn't match the image well, a proof that key word spamming doesn't pay out? SY

Yep noticed and love it.
: Rejection! Opinons?

Just got the image below rejected for copyright issues, huch? Should I re-submit with a note to reviewer or just move on? SY

They reckon the graffiti artwork might be copyrighted. Unless it's yours, I'd move on, SY.

Hm, the photo is definitely my artwork, but I would rather prefer not to confess publicly an act of vandalism that I haven't committed.  SY

There are a few sites that reject graffitti as it may be copyrighted.  Some take them some don't

: Re: Rejection! Opinons?
: Syates January 31, 2008, 02:13:48 AM
Great link, Patrick, thank you! I guess I was so shocked about this rejection because copyright is something I take really serious and being accused of trying to submit the work of others really hurts. In my understanding graffiti is copyrighted when it is "commissioned art" but not when it occurs as vandalism on a crumbling wall that belongs to nobody! SY
: Editorial images now also at Dreamstime
: Syates February 02, 2008, 10:45:28 PM
As of today DreamsTime now also accepts news-worthy, non-model released and non-property released images. More info here on the DT Message Board (http://www.dreamstime.com/thread_9156). What do you think? SY

Cause they're stupid and don't realize "Oh.....he's registered he agreed to our license agreement. He shouldn't need to again." but they think "How can I piss him off..........I'll make him agree to the license agreement everytime he submits an image! Oh yeah!". That help?

;)) Lil, what about iStock "brainbullets" of the same type? Four checkboxes and than the almighty disambiguation plus the cute little categories. Those beautiful hours spent beside a gorgeous candle light just to wait for the day all the images get rejected. Ahh... life!;))
