Albumo 100 program
khz:
hi,
did you know that, if you contribute to Albumo's 100 program and get initial credits for ul'ing your portfolio,
you will not be able to get out from that site more than 1 years? :S
before sending to that site, i tried to read about any deactivation times and i couldnt find any time limits on the help, or tos at that time, then i mailed the support and they tell me about this,
i wonder if the contributors are aware of that?
Syates:
I read it before I signed up, but I have no problem with it as I don't plan to go exclusive anywhere. Also, I find it only fair as they pay you for uploading, it would be a bit harsh if you cash in the money and then would be able to delete your portfolio. Every new site is a risk and I see it as an investment in the future, but the fact that they actually pay you for uploading, more information here helps to reach pay-out earlier. And by the way, Fotolia did exactly the same thing as they started some years back. SY

the idea behind this rule seems ok for me too,
but locking up 3000 images for 1 year, only for 250 usd doesnt seem right for me,
y may have an opportunity to sell the rights of your images, or you can never know what will future brings to micro stock industry, and i cant say `i will never be exclusive` somewhere because of this.
about fotolia, i was exclusive at istock at these times, so i dont know the details but, as long as i heard, they gave more than albumo?
dolgachov:
Bora, we'll negotiate it if we'll have to. there's always a space to negotiate if really needed.
Karimala:
If I could do it all over again, I would have never joined Albumo...and as soon as my 14 months is over, I'm leaving.
My problem is with their pricing structure. All photos start off selling for $1 for the largest size available. There are no options for buyers to purchase smaller sized photos until the photo itself has sold at least six times. Then they can buy a large size. After 24 sales, the photo is available at medium size. And only when the photo has sold for 50 times is it available for purchase at a small size. This is done on individual photos (similar to Dreamstime)...the levels are not based on sales within the portfolio (like Fotolia)
I don't understand why they don't offer a variety of sizes from the very beginning, like every other site. It doesn't make sense.
